Barca trio pay Fergie tribute

Dani Alves, Sergio Busquets and Cristian Tello have all praised Sir Alex Ferguson in the wake of the news that he is retiring at Manchester United.

Alves was only three when Ferguson took over at Old Trafford, whilst Busquets and Tello were not yet born, but all three have recognised today the impact that the Scot has had in winning 38 trophies in 26 years in Manchester.

“Ferguson is a coach who will always be remembered,” Busquets told reporters today.

“His retirement is a loss for the football world. All the things he won and that he always stayed at the level of the best Coaches is amazing.”

Full-back Alves took to his Twitter account to pay tribute: “It is like removing a myth of football. He is the kind of professional that helps make this occupation meaningful! Thanks Sir Alex Ferguson.”

Tello also posted on the social networking site: “All my admiration for Sir Alex Ferguson. He leaves the bench for Manchester United after 26 seasons. Legend.”
