‘Madrid have it easier than Barca’

Alfonso Perez Munoz has reflected that of his two former teams, Real Madrid have the easier task than Barcelona in the Champions League this week.

Madrid host Borussia Dortmund in their semi-final second leg with a 4-1 result to turn around, whilst Barca then take on Bayern Munich the day after chasing a 4-0 deficit.

For their former striker, both games represent an opportunity for the comeback.

“We’re talking about two great teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona who have the two best players in the world in Messi and Cristiano, explained Alfonso to AS today.

“Playing at home, whilst it is true that they have very adverse results to overcome, if any team is able to do so, it is Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“It is very complicated, we must be realistic. Against them both are two teams that have a great squad, with very good individuals, whilst I think that in terms of difficult, Real Madrid have things slightly better than Barcelona.

“That away goal gives their crowd some hope and ambition.

“No doubt that the push from the Bernabeu will be essential so that Madrid’s time in the competition does not end at the semi-finals.”
