Ronaldo’s unique 30-goal hat-trick

Real Madrid report that Cristiano Ronaldo has become the club’s first player in history to score 30 or more goals in a Liga season.

The Portuguese reached 31 goals for the League campaign in Sunday evening’s 3-0 win at Athletic Bilbao, with two goals for Los Blancos.

According to his club, the Portuguese has pulled away as the only player in its history to have reached 30 or more League goals in three different seasons.

Ronaldo, who achieves the record in three consecutive years, managed 40 during 2010-11 and 46 in 2011-12.

Alfredo di Stefano was Madrid’s first player to reach 30 goals in a season, managing 31 during 1956-57, before Hugo Sanchez twice broke the 30-goal barrier for Los Merengues, netting 34 in 1986-86 and 38 in 1989-90.
