Luis Garcia was left energised by Getafe’s 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid, pushing that his team are in Europa League contention until the end.
The Madrid side sit three points adrift of the final European qualification places after a goalless draw on Sunday against city rivals Atleti.
“The line between success and failure is very thin. There are a lot of direct confrontations. I think the fight will be to the end,” mused Garcia post match.
“The team exudes a good feeling. But we must fight, work and remain optimistic. We must ensure points at home and keep adding away. We’re going to be in the fight until the end.
“The team is good, in the fight and in contention. If we want to be in the Europa League then we cannot lose any more matches.
“We face Europe, maybe we are the best Getafe in history for points earned so far, but now, for all that good, we have nothing. Now we look to victory over Valladolid [next weekend].”
