Should Real Madrid defeat Galatasaray for a place in the Champions League semi-finals, Coach Jose Mourinho will tie a record with Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Manchester United manager currently holds the record for having reached the most semi-finals in the European Cup, having done so with The Red Devils on seven occasions.
Mourinho has reached the last four of the competition six times previous, including the last two seasons with Madrid, where they have lost to Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively.
Miguel Munoz led Madrid to five competition semis, equal to Marcello Lippi and Louis van Gaal, whilst Vicente del Bosque, Helenio Herrera and Pep Guardiola are among those to have reached four semi-finals as a Coach.
