Longo happy for Espanyol stay

Samuele Longo has admitted that whilst he would like to play more games at Espanyol, he would be happy to stay on for another year.

The Italian forward [pictured, centre] is two-thirds of the way through a season-long loan at Cornella-El Prat from Inter.

Whilst he is featuring less under Coach Javier Aguirre and being played out of position on the wing, Longo has today made it clear that he would be happy to stay on for another season, if possible.

“I am happy at Espanyol and very content,” he told a Press conference after training today.

“I would be happy to stay another year here, but for now I am focused on the team and we’ll see in the future.

“I’d like to play more, but with Aguirre here I am learning more than before, especially mentally. It would be easier if I had more minutes, but I am young, and I am growing.

“I can improve in every aspect, I like to work and after training I stay to exercise.

“I have to keep fighting and fighting. It’s not pretty but that’s football. I’m calm because I trust myself and I know that I have to keep my head down.”

The 21-year-old then answered a number of quickfire questions to reveal that his dream is to one day play in the Premier League, whilst his idol is Chelsea striker Fernando Torres.
