JIM: Such bad luck!

Juan Ignacio Martinez reflected that Levante did enough for a win against Getafe on Sunday and he refused to blame the match official.

Los Granotes were held to a goalless draw on Sunday, but had the better of the play, striking the woodwork, missing from close range and, as Martinez was questioned on post-match, seeing a goal from Vicente Iborra disallowed by the referee.

“He is recognised internationally, is highly experienced and, like all referees, deserves respect, because sometimes he can err in our favour and other times against us,” diplomatically suggested the Levante boss.

“Above all, in a big game the players have done everything they should have, with there being positives and much ambition that holds this team together.

“It is not normal to have such bad luck as we did in this game, because normally we would have won and not just by a goal.

“Today against Getafe, with a Coach who was a lucky ass, Levante have played a great match and it is a shame to have not gotten the win.”
