Pepe Mel congratulated his Real Betis players after they defeated Osasuna on Friday evening to move level on points with Malaga.
Goals from Jorge Molina and Ruben Castro gave the Verdiblancos a 2-1 win over the Rojillos, and the 50-year-old Coach has praised his players for getting over 40 points, despite edging closer to a European place.
“On March 8 we achieved our goal,” he told a Press conference. “Now we can stay in the League.
“I congratulate the fans and especially the players.
“It is clear that for anyone who likes football, then Betis is the team you want to watch.
“Another team would have defended to save a point when it was 1-1. But we put in everything to win.”
