Reports in Britain continue to speculate over Wayne Rooney’s future at Manchester United, with Barcelona the latest linked to the forward.
After being dropped from the starting line-up for United’s Champions League Last 16 second leg at home to Real Madrid this week, reports have grown of the England star’s discontent at Old Trafford.
United are seen as ‘open’ to his sale for around €35m in the summer and The Daily Star say that the 27-year-old is intent on moving across to Spain and specifically to Barcelona.
“Only time will tell if Wayne leaves United at the end of this season, but if that happens then he would love to go to Barcelona,” the publication quote an unnamed source today.
“He watches them all the time and is a massive fan. He has first-hand experience of how good they are and is a huge admirer of their brand of football.
“I’m sure he wouldn’t be short of offers, but Barcelona are head and shoulders above the rest in his eyes.”
