Barcelona are reportedly preparing to make a move for Liverpool’s centre-back Daniel Agger at the end of the season.
The Daily Mirror report that the Catalans will follow up on interest first started last summer through an initial enquiry, with a firm offer this coming summer.
Barca are reported as in the market for a centre-back and to ‘lower the age profile’ of the current squad, and apparently see 28-year-old Danish international Agger as a suitable recruitment.
However, Liverpool are reported as almost certain to turn down any offer, as they will be in the market themselves for at least two new centre-backs, in light of Jamie Carragher’s impending retirement.
