Line-ups: Madrid – Manchester United

Real Madrid have made wholesale changes from the side that defeated Barcelona as they face Manchester United this evening.

Cristiano Ronaldo is back in the forward line alongside Mesut Ozil, Angel Di Maria and Gonzalo Higuain, whilst Xabi Alonso and Sami Khedira anchor the midfield.

Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos start at centre-back, with Fabio Coentrao and Alvaro Arbeloa play at full-back.

There is no place however for Iker Casillas, who, despite travelling to Manchester, is not in the starting XI – Diego Lopez keeps his berth between the sticks.

For the Old Trafford side meanwhile, there is no place for Wayne Rooney, as Ryan Giggs starts in his 1,000th competitive appearance.

Manchester United: De Gea, Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Cleverley, Nani, Welbeck, Giggs, Van Persie.

Real Madrid: Diego Lopez, Arbeloa, Varane, Ramos, Coentrão; Khedira, Xabi Alonso; Cristiano Ronaldo, Özil, Di Maria; Higuaín
