Radamel Falcao is delighted that he and his Atletico Madrid teammates raised their game as they expected to defeat Sevilla.
The Colombian netted the second on the night for Atleti to give the visitors at 4-1 aggregate lead in this Copa del Rey semi-final, before Sevilla’s brief fight-back to make it 2-2 on the night.
In booking a place in the final, Falcao expressed his delight post-match.
“I am very happy. We knew we had to raise ourselves for the game and we have a spot in the final,” he told reporters afterwards.
“We knew that Sevilla had to push for the game in their own field, that they were going to create chances, and that we would have ours too and we were strong.
“The red cards for Sevilla? Those situations are generated in games like that when playing for a final, but everything is in the game.”
