Nolito: We can beat Barca

Manuel Agudo Duran, better known as Nolito, has enthused that Granada can beat Barcelona, even if it will be difficult.

The relegation-battlers have beaten Real Madrid and Deportivo in their last two games since Lucas Alcaraz was brought in as Coach.

For January loan signing Nolito, who spent three years with Barcelona’s B team and featured briefly for the club at senior level, these results have given the team confidence ahead of hosting the Catalans this Saturday.

“It’s complicated, but we will try to be ourselves. If we can beat Deportivo, Real Madrid and Barcelona then it would be a few days worth celebrating for,” reflected the 26-year-old forward.

“We can beat them. Someday they have to lose, right?

“We know it will be a difficult game, but we are preparing with the same intensity that we had against Madrid and Deportivo.

“Football is 11 against 11 and we have to play like we have been playing. Barcelona can score a goal in a second, we must try to be brave and outrun them.

“Hopefully they will be thinking about the Champions League game the following Wednesday, but I believe that they will be playing us to win.

“We have to be on it, stay focused and see what we get. We are doing things well.

“I do not know how to contain Barcelona. We should try to stay playing as we have been, and try to commit as few errors as possible.”
