Real Madrid have reportedly made a second attempt to move the League Clasico meeting with Barcelona in March.
The game has been scheduled for March 2, three days before Madrid tackle Manchester United in the second leg of their Champions League Last 16 tie.
Los Blancos had originally requested to the Spanish Football League (LFP) and relevant television broadcasters that the game be brought forward 24 hours to the Friday evening, so as to give them an extra day of preparation for the European fixture.
However, that was rejected, reportedly due to the LFP’s reasoning that it would set off a chain reaction involving the rescheduling of several more fixtures.
Madrid are now, according to reports, going back to the LFP to request that the game, provisionally placed on the Saturday evening, be scheduled for the earliest possible kick-off that day, at 4pm local time.
