‘Llorente fundamental’ to Spain

Spain Coach Vicente del Bosque is hopeful that Fernando Llorente will rediscover his form when he moves to Juventus in the summer.

The 27-year-old has agreed to shift over to Serie A this summer upon the expiry of his contract at Athletic Bilbao.

Llorente’s relations with Athletic have deteriorated this season as a result of first expressing his desire to leave last summer, and he has barely featured for the first team since, losing his place in Spain’s squad as a result.

Speaking after La Roja’s 3-1 win over Uruguay, Del Bosque made clear that he has not forgotten The Lion King, who has seven international goals to his name,

“I don’t want to do without him for the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign,” commented Del Bosque to reporters this midweek.

“I want him to do really well when he joins Juventus because I consider him to be a fundamental player for our journey.”
