Patrice Evra has revealed the best approach to ensure that Manchester United face the worst version of Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League.
Ronaldo returns to his old club in the Last 16 of this year’s competition with Real Madrid and for Evra, it is key that the United staff and fans are as welcoming as possible, so as distract the 28-year-old from his football.
“It will be exciting to Ronny because he loves United. I hope that the emotion can take over him,” the French full-back told Inside United.
“That will be perfect for us. We must not poke him before the game because when he is angry he is at his best.
“So we’ll be fine. We can say, ‘Welcome home, Ronny. It’s great to have you back, we love you. You’re the best player!’ We can kill him with our love.
“I hope he receives a standing ovation at Old Trafford because what he did for United was amazing. I miss him too.”
