Raphael Varane will have to wait a little longer for his debut with the French national team, as he has suffered an injury.
The uncapped 19-year-old was included for only the second time in Didier Deschamps’ squad, for this coming week’s friendly with Germany.
However, he has been declared unavailable by Real Madrid after tests confirmed that he has suffered a grade I thigh strain from the weekend’s defeat at Granada.
Varane is likely to miss next weekend’s home test with Sevilla, but is thought likely to be available for the following midweek’s Champions League Last 16 first leg tie with Manchester United.
