‘Lopez will contribute to Madrid’

Miguel Pardeza welcomed Diego Lopez back to Real Madrid today and reflected on the help he expects the goalkeeper to provide.

Lopez returned to the Bernabeu on Friday evening in a quick deal done with Sevilla so as to take over first-team duties during Iker Casillas’ recovery from surgery on a fractured hand.

“He returns to the club he left a few years ago to join Villarreal, where he had some brilliant campaigns,” director of football Pardeza reflected in presenting Lopez to reporters today.

“Now he is back home and it is extremely rewarding for us to have him back in a new adventure in his career.

“I wish him all the luck in the world. He comes to help us, as one of all of us at Real Madrid who are seeking to achieve our goals with the utmost professionalism, love and affection for the badge.

“Real Madrid are happy to have him back and we are convinced that his contribution will serve as a huge help.”
