Llorente injury not serious

Fernando Llorente can breathe a sigh of relief with the results back from a scan on his knee showing that he has not suffered serious ligament damage.

The striker, who last week was confirmed as on his way to Juventus in the summer, caused concern over the weekend when he jarred his knee in training.

Continuing to train, albeit in discomfort, Llorente was included in Athletic Bilbao’s matchday squad on the Saturday evening, before having to be withdrawn on Sunday morning complaining of pain in the knee.

The club reported then that the player had suffered suspected strained knee ligaments and tests carried out on Monday have now confirmed this.

Llorente’s recovery from his injury will depend upon the evolution of it in the coming days, but it is suspected that he will miss at least two weeks of action.
