Lionel Messi is a slight doubt for Barcelona’s weekend meeting at home to Osasuna after skipping Friday’s training with injury.
The Argentine requested a late substitution on Thursday evening during Barca’s 4-2 win at Malaga in the Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg, with assistant Coach Jordi Roura explaining it was a precautionary measure.
Messi was struggling at the time with an adductor injury and today has missed full training with his teammates, instead working with physiotherapists for treatment.
The forward is seen as a doubt to start Sunday evening’s visit of Osasuna, with one eye perhaps on guaranteeing the player’s full fitness for Wednesday’s Copa del Rey first leg semi-final away to Real Madrid.
