Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin has rejoined Borussia Dortmund on an 18-month loan deal.
The 24-year-old, who signed for Los Blancos in the summer of 2011 from the Bundesliga side, had been with Liverpool for six months on a season-long loan.
But the club have confirmed that the Turkey international will go back to the German champions having failed to impress at Anfield.
Sahin was voted player of the year in Germany's top-flight back in 2010, but was only a fringe player at Santiago Bernabeu playing just 10 games.
He will now represent his former club until the end of the 2013-14 season.
