Roma meet with Guardiola?

Reports in Spain are suggesting that Roma are entering the bidding to sign Pep Guardiola for next season.

The former Barcelona boss is on a 12-month sabbatical from the game after his spell at the Camp Nou, but has confirmed his intention to return to work for 2013-14.

A number of clubs including Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked, and it is now understood that the Giallorossi have entered into talks.

Director general Franco Baldini is believed to have already been out to New York, where Guardiola is based right now, to open early negotiations.

Guardiola spent a brief spell on the books at Roma, towards the tail end of his playing career. Former Barcelona B Coach Luis Enrique spent the 2011-12 season in charge of the Italian side, but resigned at the end of the campaign.
