‘UAE an option for Mourinho’

Quique Sanchez Flores has claimed that Jose Mourinho is interested in coaching in the United Arab Emirates in the future.

The Portuguese is speculated as likely to be out of Real Madrid at the end of the season, after various difficulties encountered this season, with a return to the Premier League rumoured alongside a possible switch to Paris Saint-Germain.

However, former Atletico Madrid Coach Sanchez Flores, who has been in charge of UEA Pro-League side Al Ahli since November 2011, has revealed that Mourinho is considering a move to sandier shores. The two met during last week’s Dubai International Sports Conference.

“I had lunch with Mourinho and his agent, Jorge Mendes. We talked football and he told me how different it now was in Spain. He was wondering about the situation in the United Arab Emirates’ League here,” the Coach told Sport360.com today.

“He told me that it was an alternative, that the UAE are perfect. Europe is his best option, but it is an alternative that is a good place and that he is considering going to in the future.

“Mourinho was surprised at how happy he saw a Spanish Coach in this Arabic adventure and he told me that he saw my happiness in my face. He was interested in knowing about our League and its stars.

“Would he fit in? Sure, I can see him here perfectly. Jose is a person of world football. He loves the work and I am sure that in the future he could come here.”
