Cerezo coy on Falcao-Madrid rumours

Enrique Cerezo has once more dismissed claims that Radamel Falcao will leave Atletico Madrid, suggesting now that Real Madrid can’t afford him.

The Colombian has been linked with a move out of the Calderon by next summer, with Madrid rumoured to be one of his preferred destinations.

However, Atletico Madrid’s President has looked to dismiss concerns that the striker is even leaving Atleti.

“There is a €60m clause and the truth is that he is very happy where he is. I do not know if Madrid have that money, I know my accounts,” Cerezo told reporters

“There are no nerves on that topic, so we wait patiently for the Copa del Rey game with Getafe.”

The President declined to comment on Florentino Perez’ ‘napkin’ joke about Falcao during last night’s AS awards ceremony, but did offer his views on recent complaints about refereeing performances in Spain.

“I think the referees are being targeted by many people, but they are what they are, sometimes they give, sometimes they take away.

“You have to leave them alone. I wish nobody knew anything about the referees, not even their name. They would come to the stadium, blow their whistle and do as they do and then go home peacefully to watch the game on the TV.”
