Lionel Messi could be fit to face Real Betis tomorrow, as Barcelona travel to Benito Villamarin looking to maintain their unbeaten start.

The Argentine forward was stretchered off in the Blaugrana's 0-0 draw with Benfica on Wednesday, but he has trained with the rest of the squad this morning and could be a possibility to play against the Verdiblancos.

Fans had feared the worst in the midweek Champions League tie, but medical reports have suggested that the injury suffered was just bruising to the knee, and as such, the 25-year-old could still break Gerd Muller's record of 85 goals in a calendar year.

Coach Tito Vilanova will decide with the club's medical staff later this evening whether Messi is fit enough to play tomorrow.
