Sevilla President Jose Maria del Nido hasn’t held back in his criticism of the team’s display in the 4-0 loss to Atletico Madrid.

Michel’s side were brought back to earth with a bang last night, following their 5-1 derby win over Real Betis with a heavy defeat at the Vicente Calderon, where no less than three of their players were sent off.

Del Nido gave a typically frank assessment at the presentation of a Sevilla foundation campaign.

“Today’s event comes in handy to use the phrase life goes on, after the unfortunate image that returned in our away performances,” he said. “It was the usual disastrous picture, this time against an opponent with more drive who ran us over.”

Los Nervionenses have one of the division’s better home records but a lamentable record on their travels, losing four and winning only one of their seven away games to date.
