Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo has commented on continued rumours linking Radamel Falcao with a move, as well as on the club’s season ambition.
Falcao has been the subject of transfer rumours since the end of last season, but Cerezo has tried to again put those to bed.
“I never tire of the rumours about Falcao, because he has a contract and is happy. Like us. And a contract is fulfilled,” stated the President at a sponsorship event today.
Cerezo was also asked of the impending Madrid derby set for Week 14 and of where he feels this current Atleti side are going.
“Before the derby we have two very important games against Hapoel and Sevilla. The latter are a great team, as you saw with the 5-1 the other day.
“We always go out to win. This team plays well and scores goals, and what it does so well is scoring goals.
“There is a good feeling at the club, but still a long time to go in the League. Nobody can take away the good start we have had, though.
“This team wants to do well in all competitions including the Europa League and the Copa. It is a year where we can expect this from Atletico. They are a close-knit team and even they have much ambition.”
