Valdez: Valencia among Europe’s best

Striker Nelson Haedo Valdez is banking on Valencia's home record giving them the edge against Bayern Munich tomorrow night.

Los Che host 'FC Hollywood' at Mestalla in Champions League Group F's deciding fixture, the combatants currently tied together with nine points apiece and two fixtures to play.

Valencia have failed to win only one of the eight home games they have played in all competitions this season.

“The opportunities the two teams have are the same,” said the Paraguayan frontman in a Press conference. “Valencia are strong at home, we have not lost a game there all season.”

Valdez spent several seasons in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen, and concedes the game is 'perhaps a bit special' for that reason.

He is also emboldened by his team's three game winning streak in the Champions League.

“We have shown in our last three games we can be among the best in Europe. It depends on all of us, but it's a great opportunity. The players know what we're playing for tomorrow.

“Bayern? They're a very compact team, they have no weak points.”

Valdez scored in the reverse fixture, a 2-1 victory for the Germans at the Allianz Arena.
