Real Madrid score ‘unfair’

Cesar Remon believes that Alcoyano did not deserve to lose to Real Madrid by the 4-1 scoreline recorded last night.

The Segunda Division B side fell in the first leg round of 32 clash to the reigning Spanish champions and face an almost impossible task to rescue the tie at the end of the month in the return leg at the Bernabeu.

“We did not deserve to lose by such a score. Anyone who watched the game knows that the difference between the two teams was not really that,” midfielder Remon told EFE today, before reflecting on what ultimately did prove the difference.

“They are one of those teams that seem to be doing nothing but the first chance they have they kill you.

“That’s why those players are worth so much money, they are top players in world football and that difference is felt in the details.

“For us, their first goal killed us. It was a big blow because the team had been playing well.”
