Pereira: Atleti are not just Falcao

Valencia defender Joao Pereira has claimed that Saturday's opponents Atletico Madrid are not a one-man team.

Los Che host Diego Simeone's men this weekend, and the Portugal international has admitted that it would be foolish to focus purely on in-from striker Radamel Falcao.

“Falcao has been a very good player and scorer for a long time,” he told a Press conference. “But Atletico are not just Falcao. There are other players who can have a good game, so on Saturday we have to play as a team and not think about just Falcao.”

He also commented on the team's bad start to the season, and the impact the supporters have if they are to turn things around.

“Valencia are not just the players,” he said. “We are also the doctors, the Coaches, the President and the fans. The fans are a big part of Valencia and we have to do everything to win games for them.

“When we concede a goal it is not the fault of the goalkeeper and the four defenders. We are the eleven on the pitch, the seven on the bench and the squad players that aren't involved.

“We always play to win, so when we lose we are obviously sad. But we are trying to turn things around.”
