According to Talksport, Liverpool will try to tempt La Liga pair Arda Turan and Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window.

Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers [pictured] is understood to have sent scouts to check out Turan in Turkey’s recent World Cup qualifier against Romania, with the club already having been linked with the Atletico Madrid midfielder last year before his move from Galatasaray.

The 25-year-old has scored twice in seven La Liga games this term and the Anfield club could be ready to test Los Rojiblancos’ resolve to hang on to him in the wake of mounting debts.

Another player being lined up is Barcelona’s Chilean international Alexis Sanchez, who impressed at the Camp Nou last term after his transfer from Udinese but has failed to start in three of Barca’s seven League games so far this season.

Liverpool are understood to be monitoring the situation as they look for more firepower up front following the news that Fabio Borini is sidelined with a foot injury, leaving Luis Suarez as the club’s lone striker.
