Garcia seeking Mallorca exit

Real Mallorca left-back Kevin Garcia has confirmed he will seek a move if boss Joaquin Caparros continues to ignore his claims.

The 23-year-old [pictured] has not played an official match for Los Bermellones since September 2011, when Michael Laudrup was sat on the bench, having suffered a serious rectum injury from which he is now fully recovered.

However, given his lack of playing time this term the Palma-born player feels he may have to move on to kick-start his career if it continues.

“I need minutes on the pitch after spending a bad year because of my injury. I know there are others who are doing better than me but if I see I have no chance of playing then I’ll need to have a look at what my options are,” he told a Press conference.

Pedro Bigas and the injured Antonio Lopez are both ahead of Garcia in the pecking order, while Caparros has relied on youth players in other positions to fill the gaps left by injuries to  Jose Nunes, Javi Marquez and Joao Victor.

“We’ve had many injuries but Caparros has not spoken to me at all, although I’m working hard to play if needed. There are a lot of youngsters coming through and to be honest they are all doing very well.

“I know it is difficult with Lopez and Bigas in my place and all I can do is work, but I have to respect the boss’s decision because it is him who picks the team,” concluded Garcia.
