The debut of Real Mallorca's marquee signing Giovani Dos Santos has been further postponed.
The Mexican midfielder – who arrived from Tottenham shortly before the transfer window closed – picked up a thigh injury whilst representing his country at the Olympic Football Tournament in London.
The former Barcelona winger recently began training with his new teammates and had been tipped to debut on Sunday against Granada, but it now appears he will not make his first appearance for the Islanders until after the international break.
“It is a small inconvenience,” club doctor Bartomeu Munar told AS. “He has not had a relapse, but there is no full assurance that he is fully recovered, so its back to the gym for sessions with a physical therapist.”
