Cissokho warns of Lille danger

Valencia left-back Aly Cissokho has warned of the dangers posed by Lille before the two teams meet in Tuesday’s Champions League game.

The Frenchman knows all about Michel Seydoux’s team from his time with Lyon and believes Los Che will have to watch out for the speed of the Ligue 1 side on the counter-attack.

“They are good side who play good football and are very quick, so we will need to be alert as they have already lost the first [group] match at home,” declared Sissokho, who says anybody hoping to get a regular place in the Valencia side needs to fight and be physically fit.

“I do my work but I think that at all the big teams there is competition. In Valencia’s case it is double because there are two or three players in every position and you must be good to get into the starting line-up.”

With respect to last Saturday’s game against Real Zaragoza, which Los Che won 2-0, Cissokho claimed there had been a lot of mistakes from the referee, who did not signal a clear penalty for a foul on Joao Pereira.

“Fortunately we won because otherwise there would have been major repercussions,” he maintained.
