Bayern Munich’s Javi Martinez believes Valencia will make it tough for the Bundesliga team in Wednesday’s Champions League game.
The Spanish international joined the Bavarians in the summer from Athletic Bilbao and is relishing the clash at the Allianz Arena, although he feels it will not be easy against Mauricio Pellegrino’s men.
“I’m looking forward to the game because I’ve never played in the Champions League before and it is an important match for us.
“Bayern reached the final last year and we’ll be one of the favourites to win the competition again, so we want to start with a victory.
“I’m in no doubt Valencia will prove a tough opponent because they are a great team, capable of playing at a high tempo and strong tactically, and it will be very demanding,” he told Bayern’s official website.
