Fernando Gago won’t be back in Spain until at least Monday, as he remains under observation after suffering a head injury last week.
The Valencia midfielder was stretchered off during Argentina’s 1-1 draw in Peru in midweek and, after spending the night in hospital, travelled back to his home country on Wednesday.
However, Argentina Football Association doctors delayed his return to Spain by a further 24 hours, and as he didn’t return to Spain by the early hours of Friday morning, Valencia have now confirmed that his period of observation has been extended and will last another 48 hours.
The player, who has undergone several neurological tests, is now scheduled to return to Valencia on Monday. Los Che are in action this Saturday at home to Celta Vigo.
