Falcao ‘perfect’ for Real Madrid

Radamel Falcao has been advised by former Barcelona ‘keeper Vitor Baia to move to the Camp Nou or Real Madrid to advance his career.

The in-form Colombian has attracted attention this week for his father’s words that he is intent on joining Real next summer.

Although he has denied this and reportedly spoken with Atleti officials to reassure them, Baia believes such a move would be to his benefit.

“Falcao is a perfect fit for Madrid, he would fare very well in Jose Mourinho’s system,” the former Porto man reflected today.

“At Barcelona he would have to change his style, but it would be a good problem for Tito [Vilanova] to have him alongside [Lionel] Messi.

“Falcao is a phenomenon, a monster. At Porto he did incredible things, he is a striker who can do anything. With Falcao in my team I would be very quiet in goal. He is a top player who can fit into any team, he is very complete.

“Falcao is starting to fall short at Atletico, a big team, but without the dimension of Real Madrid or Barca. Something else that would be great for him would be English football.”

The 42-year-old 80-times-capped Portugal international then turned his attention to Cristiano Ronaldo and his unhappiness at Real Madrid.

“He has his reasons and he is the only one who can explain. He is the only one who knows the truth. Cristiano is a great champion and a good professional.

“Mourinho knows how to handle this case, he is a great leader and a friend of the players, particularly of Cristiano. I don’t think he has problems with anyone, he always keeps everyone under control.”
