Real Madrid and Barcelona target Neymar was offered the chance to join Manchester United over the summer, The Sun revealed today.
The 20-year-old wunderkind has been constantly linked with a move to La Liga over the past few seasons, with many sources reporting that the Santos forward will have a straight choice between Santiago Bernabeu and Camp Nou once he decides to leave Brazil.
But Manchester United have tried to muscle their way into the equation, apparently tabling a bid of €48m for the Seleccao international.
Neymar has always insisted that he will only move away from his homeland after the 2014 World Cup, but that doesn't seem to have detracted attention from Sir Alex Ferguson's side, who are expected to bid for him again come the January transfer window.
