Falcao mobbed in Colombia

Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao has been given a hero's welcome, after arriving at Barranquilla airport ahead of Colombia vs Uruguay this Friday.

The 26-year-old forward will start for Los Cafeteros against their South American rivals later this week, and was overwhelmed after being mobbed at the Ernesto Cortissoz airport, following his hat-trick for Diego Simeone's side against Chelsea in the European Super Cup.

“I am very grateful to everyone and very happy with the messages I have received from people all over Colombia,” he said to AS on his arrival. “They have moved me, and now I want to prepare well this week to play a good game and win.

“I am returning to my country very, very happy. I have come to help the team, but now the most important thing is to play for the team and think about the match against Uruguay.”

The former Porto man bagged a first half hat-trick, as Los Colchoneros defeated the Premier League outfit 4-1 last Friday in Monaco to lift the Super Cup trophy.
