Garcia satisfied with Getafe start

Luis Garcia insisted he was satisfied with Getafe’s start to the season after the 1-1 draw at Deportivo de La Coruna.

The former Levante boss has seen his team take four points from the opening three fixtures that have pitted his side against Real Madrid, Sevilla and Depor.

Defeat at Sevilla, the win over Madrid and now a point at Riazor is the sum total of his players’ efforts, something with which he is more than satisfied.

“Four points from the schedule we have had is not a bad number,” Garcia told a Press conference after the game.

“This team is still improving despite it being a completely different start to the season from last year. We are now a team with ambition that always wants to win.”

However, the 39-year-old admitted the bottom line was results, although he felt the game with Depor could have gone either way.

“At the end of the day it is results that matter. In the first half we were superior but ended up leaving with a draw.

“That was the key. Later on we could have won it through Xavi Torres but then again we could also have lost.

“It was a strange game and I don’t know if I’m going away feeling happy or sad, but I’m pleased with the attitude of my players.

“In the opening 45 minutes we looked like the home side but after that we were not assertive enough,” he added.
