Javi Martinez is reportedly on the verge of completing his transfer to Bayern Munich after completing a medical in Germany yesterday.
According to AS the Navarran, who had not asked his club for permission to travel to Munich, was caught on camera in the city on Tuesday after travelling there in the afternoon by private jet.
Martinez is due to train with Athletic today at their Lezama training ground.
Bayern Munich have allegedly already paid Athletic the €40m buy-out clause for Martinez, meaning the operation is almost completed. Tax issues, and the unwillingness of the Bilbao hierarchy to negotiate, had previously held up the deal.
Athletic, who could also lose striker Fernando Llorente this summer, are now keen to make a new signing, with the first priority being Malaga full back Nacho Monreal.
