Longo joins Espanyol on loan

Espanyol have secured a loan deal for Inter’s promising young striker Samuele Longo, confirm the Catalans via their official website.

The Italian passed a medical on Tuesday morning and will be presented this afternoon at the club’s training ground in Sant Adria by President Ramon Condal and director of football Ramon Planes.

He will then join his new teammates and Coach Mauricio Pochettino for a training session.

The 20-year-old has represented Italy at Under-21 level and is the sixth player to join Espanyol this summer.

Longo, who will spend a year at Espanyol, is the second Inter player to join the club on loan this calendar year. Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho enjoyed a successful spell with the Catalan outfit between January and May, scoring five goals in 16 League appearances.
