Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo could line up on opposite teams at the Camp Nou next February, but not playing for Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The duo are set to renew acquaintances in the Spanish League with their clubs in October and March’s scheduled fixtures, whilst they could also meet in the two-legged Spanish Super Cup later this month.
Further to this though, respective football federations to Argentina and Portugal are, according to reports in the Argentine Press, in advanced negotiations to play an international friendly in February 2013, with Barca’s Camp Nou as the host stadium.
Messi and Ronaldo last faced off playing for their national teams in February 2011, in Switzerland, in a game that saw them both score.
