Liverpool pick up Sahin – report

Nuri Sahin has reportedly agreed to join Liverpool from Real Madrid today on a season-long loan deal.

The Turkish midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer to temporarily end a difficult, injury-affected spell in Spain.

Linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool, reports in England suggest that Real have got their wish to send the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder to Anfield on a season-long loan deal.

It was believed that the player preferred a switch to the Gunners, but reports listed his Coach Jose Mourinho as keen to have him under his former Chelsea colleague Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.

Sahin is contracted to Madrid until 2017, and the club are optimistic he will feature for them more predominately in the future, but this summer he has only played 127 minutes of the club’s pre-season campaign, indicative of his reported departure.

The move is set to be confirmed later today or into tomorrow morning.
