Caparros: Mallorca chasing three more

Real Mallorca boss Joaquin Caparros feels his squad is still lacking three players before the start of the new season.

The former Sevilla, Deportivo de La Coruna and Athletic Bilbao Coach saw his injury-hit team lose 1-0 to Hamburg in the Trofeo Ciutat de Palma on Saturday night, when Los Bermellones finished the game with seven youth players on the pitch.

Mallorca begin their La Liga campaign next week with a home game against Espanyol and, despite Caparros’ recent claim that he would not swap his squad for any other, he is desperately seeking two central defenders and a striker.

“I am convinced that we will get the three players we need this week,” the 56-year-old told a Press conference.

“We are already thinking about the next match, which will be the moment of truth.

“With less than a week to go before the start of La Liga we are not where we would have liked to have been.

“It appears that we are still not ready.”
