Barcelona have openly admitted for the first time that they would like to sign Brazilian star Neymar, reports AS.
Not only that, they would prefer the 20-year-old Santos striker to join them immediately after he has finished representing his country at the London Olympics.
Neymar fired Brazil into the quarter-finals with a brilliant display in the 3-1 win over Belarus at Old Trafford on Sunday, scoring a sublime free-kick and providing two assists, and Barcelona Vice-President Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed Barca would like him sooner rather than later.
“It is possible that Neymar will end up playing in Europe and if that is the case we will try to make sure it is with Barcelona.
“We would all like him to come after the Olympic Games,” Bartomeu told fans at an official meeting of the Tangier branch of the Barcelona Supporters Club following the 8-0 friendly victory over local club Raja Casablanca on Saturday.
