Messi denies magazine allegations

Lionel Messi has categorically denied through Argentine agency Telam that he gave an interview to Hungarian magazine Kepes Sport.

The publication had a photograph of Messi on the cover of its latest edition with a double-page spread inside containing quotes attributed to the 25-year Barcelona player.

Messi was said to have declared, amongst other things, that these days he is ´much more open` when it comes to relationships and that when he was young he was very introverted, so much so that Cesc Fabregas, his teammate at the club’s La Masia academy, thought he was a ´deaf mute`.

He is also alleged to have made comments about Pep Guardiola’s time as Coach at the Camp Nou and to have thanked Santos striker Neymar for the recent words of praise he directed in Messi’s direction.

“The Messi family reserves the right to take appropriate legal action against Kepes Sport,” said a statement from Telam.

The Blaugrana star will now consider the possibility of taking the matter further over what he sees as a stain on his character.
