Falcao tight-lipped on Atletico future

Radamel Falcao was tight-lipped about his Atletico Madrid future on arrival in the Spanish capital for pre-season training on Sunday.

The 26-year-old had been given extra time off along with Arda Turan and Eduardo Salvio over the summer, but was coy when asked about his long-term prospects at the Vicente Calderon.

“I can’t talk about anything but I am glad to be back,” he was quoted as saying by AS.

The Colombian international has been linked with both Manchester City and Barcelona in recent weeks after his 24 goals in 34 La Liga appearances last season, with rumours Atleti may be willing to sell a player who was also instrumental in the club’s Europa League success.

Falcao cost €40m when he was signed from Porto 12 months ago with the fee potentially rising to €47m based on performance-related clauses, making it the most expensive in Atletico’s history.
