Mason Greenwood not in England’s Euro 2024 plans

Mason Greenwood will not be included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024.

Greenwood’s form on loan at Getafe this season continues to catch the eye and he could remain in Spain next season.

Manchester United are rumoured to be open to a sale, and Greenwood has attracted interest from La Liga sides, despite his high transfer valuation.

Atletico Madrid could make a bold move if United are willing to negotiate a reduction on their £50m asking price.

Greenwood’s international future could also be subject to change later this year but Southgate is not counting on him this summer.

As per the latest reports from the Daily Express, Southgate could give Greenwood the chance to add to his one England cap from 2020, but not until at least September.

Southgate claimed a possible Euro 2024 recall would be a major ‘distraction’ in his squad but the option remains open further down the line for the Three Lions head coach.
