Zinedine Zidane among favourites for Man Utd job despite not wanting it

Zinedine Zidane is among the favourites to take over at Manchester United.

United are in dire straits having been thrashed 5-0 at home by fierce rivals Liverpool over the weekend.

The Reds have struggled to maintain consistent form both in the Premier League and Champions League, and that’s despite strengthening heavily over the summer transfer window.

And that has left manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer under intense pressure.

At the moment, it looks like the Norwegian will get yet another opportunity to turn things around, but if he does go, a former Real Madrid boss is reportedly in the frame.

According to most bookmakers, Zidane is second favourite for the job, behind Antonio Conte.

Though, as reported by Mundo Deportivo yesterday, Zidane does not want the role.

According to that report, the former Real Madrid boss wants time out of the game after a busy -and successful – few years at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Having only been out of the game since the summer, Zidane does not want to return just yet, and that could keep him out of the frame as far as the Old Trafford role goes.
